‘If my heart is in Nepal, a large part of my soul is in Tibet.’ Maaike
Maaike has been interested in Buddhism as long as she can remember. She always had Buddha, the Dalai Lama and many Buddhist books on the shelves of her room. She made her first trip to Tibet in 1996.
But her real love for Tibet grew when she met Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche during her sabbatical in 2009. He became her teacher and she studied many Buddhist practices, such as yoga, meditation, sword yoga, Buddhist Psychology, mindfulness, etc.
Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche introduced Maaike to Thingkhar and Nordup, a Tibetan family with a local travel agency with whom she became good friends. Maaike calls Thingkhar her Tibetan sister.
Since 2014, we have been offering ‘spiritual’ tours to Tibet together, doing our very best to give people an authentic experience in a fast-changing country. We keep our travel groups small in order to guarantee you a Tibetan guide, and we keep looking for new, authentic locations.
